Should have switched to Stainless Steel long agoMar 05, 2010 The grill came with those porcelain grates that should not be cleaned with steel brushes-- I did it anyway and did not realize how much they wore down over about 3 years. They finally rusted through. Now I can scrape and brush away to clean up after cooking. The are also very slightly larger, and fit much better than the original ones, that rattled back and forth when cleaning them. Too bad that Weber does not issue Stainless Steel grates as original equipment in high-end grills.
Cheaper than WeberMar 02, 2010 This is high quality Weber stuff, but cheaper on Amazon than for what Weber sells it.

Expensive, lasted only 2 years.Feb 02, 2010 I replaced my original grates with these stainless steel ones, thinking I could avoid the rusting I experienced with the old ones. The stainless steel ones did not rust, but after only two years, they came apart. The vertical grates separated from the horizontal supports, and some of the grates are bent. The problem is that the grates are too thin and seem unable to take the high heat the grill generates. I am going back to porcelain-coated grates.
Much improved over original, great priceDec 20, 2009 After owning my grill for 5-6 years, it was time to replace the cooking grates. The originals eventually rusted, so I chose stainless steel replacements. What an improvement! If the grates are oiled, food won't stick. Cleaning the grates is simple, either by burning the food off, or cleaning with a grill scraping tool. These will last a long time. The stainless steel grates on Amazon are cheaper than the porcelain grates found in the stores. Highly recommended.
Great Grates!Nov 30, 2009 The S.S. replacement grates for my Weber BBQ are well worth the extra cost. They clean up easily and look great!
