Third handMar 06, 2010 I am very impresed buy the consruction quality of this item, real heavy duty, great. I have used it to hold angle iron while I drilled and ground on it. Sawed boards and etc. The Jawhorse hold material just as good as any other vice that I have ever used and it is portable, you don't have be confined to a work bench. I think back and can remember hundreds of times i could have used the Jawhorse. It would have make my job easier and safer. The safty aspect of the Jawhorse should be a selling feature all by it self, no more sawing with one hand because of holding material with the other hand or holding material with my foot. Never liked using hand clamps. The Jawhorse will make my project easier, safer and quicker.
My first project was to make a work platform/miter saw table, it is great.
Using the Jawhorse is like having a helper or a third hand. Don't have to bother the wife!
Totally EmbarrasedMar 03, 2010 I had bought the jawhorse shortly after Christmas and it seemed to have worked fairly well. One day I had a few friends over
making a set for my daughters school play. We had been using the tool to hold plywood and various pieces in order to be
fastened together. One of the men had asked me how I had liked the tool and if it had lived up to the TV commercial. Just then, I tried to release the lock and it wouldn't release. Man, was I embarrased! The lock and rod are not made very sturdy and the flimsy rod came loose from the plastic release knob. Most of the unit was made from heavy guage steel except for a
few key components and this was one of them.
My Shop HelperFeb 20, 2010 I purchased the Jaw Horse because of the information I saw on Amazon. I think this tool is a must for every handyman. It gives me the ability to lock an item in and not be concerned if I am called away by the telephone, etc. I think some of the parts, ie: the locking devise is the weak point and these items should be made of metal for lasting durability. I would recommend this item as a must have.
Excellent product to make life easier!Feb 20, 2010 This product is very sturdy and will be a tremendous asset to me when doing home improvement projects! I have not even touched all it's capabilities yet.
Rockwell RK9000 JawhorseFeb 17, 2010 I purchased this product since I work alone all the time. Always needing an extra hand, this product does everything it was advertised to do. The clamping power is unbelievable. Clamped everything I worked on and didn't slip at all. Great for the one man work crew. Portablability is the key to this product. You can take it anywhere and it sets up in seconds. A little heavy, but very stable. I am very satisfied with my purchase.
